50,000 words in 30 days
November is a busy month for writers. Especially writers that sign up at www.nanowrimo.org to write 50,000 words in 30 days. I didn’t make it to the big 50 this year, but there is always next year.
Check out the annual writing contest with Oklahoma Writers’ Federation Inc. www.owfi.org The entry deadline is Feb 1, 2007. For an entry fee of $20 authors can submit 1 entry in 29 unpublished categories and 4 published categories. The contest is open to members only but membership fees are very reasonable. $25 a year for members at large. $20 for members of affiliate groups.
Keep writing. Aim high, but don’t try the 50,000 words in 30 days if you expect to do anything else, like eat or sleep, during that 30 days.
Peace be with you
